How you can help your child at home

Please make sure you are reading regularly with your child and that you are talking to them about the text. There are some question starters on this page to help you.

It is important that children read a range of fiction, non-fiction and poetry throughout KS2.

Newsround and First News are useful resources for discussing current issues.

 

Children need to know all of their times tables by the end of year 4. Therefore, it is really important that they learn these, in and out of order and know what the inverse is.

 

Spelling practice is key and the children need to get more confident with using a dictionary to check spellings. Spending time doing this with homework is a good editing skill for them to learn.
