If uniform standards are not met, this will be communicated to parents / carers.

In colder weather, the school PE sweatshirt, a school sweatshirt or a plain navy sweatshirt can be worn. For health and safety reasons, no tops with hoods should be worn. Any tracksuit trousers should be plain navy blue.
Any t-shirts worn for PE which are not school PE kit should be plain white or navy blue.
PE days
In Reception, pupils should wear school uniform to school on PE days and will change into PE kit before their lesson. In all other year groups, on PE days, pupils should wear PE kit to school. If a pupil has a sports club on a day they do not have PE, they should wear school uniform and change just for that club into PE kit.
In accordance with P.E. health and safety guidance, all pupils will do indoor gym and dance activities in bare feet.
Changing footwear
Black shoes should be worn to school with children being allowed to change into trainers or wellington boots at playtimes when necessary. In very poor weather, pupils may wear wellington boots to school and then change into black shoes on arrival.
Jewellery
Acceptable forms of jewellery may include one or more of the following:
All items of acceptable jewellery are to be removed for P.E. (earrings to be taped if they cannot be removed). Earrings must be removed for swimming (year 5).
Hair
Hair of shoulder length or longer is to be worn tied back as a health and safety measure. The school does not permit children to have haircuts / hair colourings that could serve as a distraction to other children. If hair products need to be used, these should not be visible.
Ribbons, clips, bands and ‘scrunchies’ are to be of school colours (grey, red, black or white).
Mobile Phones and Smart Watches
Below, is the current policy but it is under review. Farnham Common Village Schools are working with other local schools on an agreed approach to having smart phone – free schools.
Current policy:
Pupils below Year 5 are not allowed to bring mobile phones to school. We do discourage any children bringing mobile phones into school but, if they are required by pupils in year 5 or 6 for the journey to or from school, they should always be handed in to Reception. While on school grounds, they are not allowed to be turned on.
In school, pupils should not wear smart watches which allow them to access the internet, social media, messaging or phones.

The following miscellaneous items are unacceptable: nail polish, make-up, anklets and friendship bands.
