FCJS Weekly Bulletin 17th July 2026
Welcome to the weekly bulletin 17th July 2026
Hope you have all had a good week!
This will most probably be the last newsletter from me this academic year. We say goodbye to our year 6's and wish them well with the next chapter in their lives. It has been a pleasure seeing you grow over the years.
Year 6
The year 6’s worked extremely hard on their production which they showcased to the school, parents and families - well done to all the pupils and staff involved.
Tonight is the year 6 leavers disco, followed by camping on the field. The camping is for the children that completed the gold junior challenge.
FSM / PP Application Form
Anyone that wanted to apply for free school meals / pupil premium should have returned the form today.
Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund ended on 31 March 2026 and has been replaced by the Government’s new Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF). This new fund focuses on targeted support for families experiencing sudden financial hardship.
Because of this change, families who are eligible for free school meals will no longer receive food vouchers during school holidays.
Eligible families will still be able to access the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, which provides free activities and healthy meals during school holidays. If you are not eligible for HAF, families are encouraged to use existing community support such as kids eat free offers and community cafés.
More information about local support is available on the Buckinghamshire Council website.
Camps / Clubs
The clubs letter for September was sent out on a separate email on Thursday.
Summer Reading Challenge
This summer, Buckinghamshire Libraries and The Reading Agency invite children to discover the joy of reading through Read to the Beat! — the music-themed Summer Reading Challenge 2026. Participating children can personalise their challenge by selecting up to six reading goals. They'll collect stickers for each goal reached, with a medal and certificate for everyone who completes six goals. Local libraries are getting involved with special activities, too. Children can sign up at the library or online, find out more at https://www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/campaign/summer-reading-challenge/
Lunches
If your child is having a hot lunch, please make sure you order them one. The lunch order form is sent out on Tuesdays and needs to be completed by 09:00 the following Monday. A form has been sent out for the first 2 weeks of September.
We break up for Summer on Wednesday 22nd July at 13:30 and return on Thursday 3rd September.
