September Club Listings
Please see the attached letter for the Autum Term clubs that will be available in September. These will go live on Arbor on 15th July @ 1pm.
Hot Weather Reminder
As we continue to enjoy the warm weather next week, please ensure your child comes to school with the following, these steps will help keep children safe, comfortable, and hydrated throughout the day:
- Bring a named water bottle every day.
- Having sun cream applied before school.
- Wearing a sun hat or cap for outdoor activities.
Year 2 Disco
A reminder that there will be a Year 2 Leavers Disco on Friday 17th July 4:15-5:30 at the Junior School. Tickets still on sale via the link until midnight on 15th July. www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsfcvs/
Summer Reading Challenge – Set by our local library
The Summer Reading Challenge:
· Significantly improves reading confidence and independence
· Ensures pupils are ready for their autumn return, preventing the summer reading ‘dip’
· Aids the successful transition between year groups and key stages
· Contributes to all pupils’ achievement and encourages extra-curricular activity
· Develops links between your school, the library and the wider community
How it works:
- Children can sign up at the library, where they will receive a special sticker booklet
- They set their own reading goals from a selection of ideas on the sticker booklet or they can choose any 6 books, eBooks or audiobooks of their choice – logging their reading will earn rewards such as stickers
- Children who complete the Challenge are presented with a certificate and a medal.
